Do you get annoyed with the way FASTCOPY makes you write-protect
disks? Are you hassled by the rigors of trying to make a bitcopying
parm, and you have to constantly add & remove the write protect
sticker on a 5.25" disk? Do you just plain want some program to NOT
MESS WITH YOUR DISK?? If so, my futuristic product is for you:
This works on Disk ][s, but it may work on other drives also.
Cut a thin piece of firm material (that paperboard at the back of a
notebook, your credit card, Paul Bunyon's thumbnail, etc.) to
1 3/8" x 3", and insert it in where the disk goes, on the left of the
drive door (your material has to be thin enough to fit in there with
your disk at the same time). On a Disk ][, you will hear a small
click when you have pushed the sensor. Be sure to leave about 1" of
your piece of material hanging out, so it can be removed :) Your
piece of material may work better/worse/same if you slide it in
under/over your disk. Try both.
Now accepting proposals for names of this stunning technological
device. Patents pending worldwide ;)
