I don't have all the answers you need, but I can suggest that the ][e has
the expandability of the ][+ (unless you are using Slot 0), but I believe
it has slightly lower power requirements, which would translate into
longer battery life.

Just thought I would point that out.  Of course, the expensive but very
simple alternative would be to use a voltage inverter to convert the 12v
battery output to 110VAC and push that through the ]['s power supply, but
that seems like such a waste of effort...
