I know that the old NEC Multisync 2A would work. The problem is that you
need to get an older multisync monitor that is capable of going down to
15.75 MHz horizontal sync. The current monitors no longer go this low.
Another alternative is to get your hands on an older Amiga monitor. They
had at least two models that worked well with a IIgs. I believe they were:
Model 1802 and Model 1802S (this later model had stereo speakers built in
-- actually, more like 2 speakers :-) ). The Model 1802 was actually
identical to a Magnavox monitor (which I still have down in my basement).
The Magnavox monitor was model 8CM515. I also believe that some of the
old Atari ST monitors may also be compatible with the right cable of
course.
The bottom line is that if you want to connect a monitor to the IIgs
built-in video it needs to be capable of handling analog RGB signals
at a horizontal sync rate of 15.75.
Good luck,
Paul.
