I would assume as fast as the text display in ProTERM. The latest
version of Spectrum (version 2.1) makes use of the character generator
built-in to the Oak 087 VGA chipset. In otherwords, what is displayed
on screen is a _true_ color ANSI or VT-100 text display, identical to
what you would get with PC terminal programs (i.e. ProComm Plus). It
is not a graphics emulation of text, so there should be no slow down.
It seems the Second Sight board has become the 80 columns card of
the 90's for the Apple IIgs (the character generator built-in to the
GS's VGC chip is from the Apple IIe, so characters are generally small
and fuzzy compared with a PC ANSI display). Unfortunately, this is about
all I can say for the Second Sight.
