Need help w/Fast Eddie beta
Howdy folks,
Just last year I bought my two little children a used GS super system so
that they could learn all about computers the easy way. While we are all
very happy using this system, the lack of a GUI, Navigator compatible
web browser and postscript page layout program forced me to get an
additional used PowerMac 6100/66 system.
While real world needs force us now to use this mac as the primary
system, we were pleasantly surprised to learn at my user group that a GS
emulator called Fast Eddie has just gone into public beta. If this
miracle program works as expected, it would permit us to get back into
using a "GS" in the frequency we used to while allowing us to easily
switch to Mac apps when absolutely necessary.
Once I learned of FE I immediately cranked up Navigator to download this
babe. Downloading and installation (along with ROM image available with
archive) went fine. But once I run FE a bunch of garbage characters
scroll up the window which apparently represents the GS screen. Anyway,
I cannot figure out how to actually run ProDOS to install System 6.0.1,
which I have on floppies. The docs say that FE recognizes floppies
inserted into the built-in superdrive, but I can't get it to boot up the
system disk so I can run the installer...
Any help I can get concerning this matter would be much appreciated.
