That reminds me of something Linus Torvalds once said about backup:

"Only wimps use tape backup.  Real men just upload their important stuff on
FTP, and let the rest of the world mirror it."

Replication is a sound approach to backing up your own stuff (currently
backing up my collection of music and movies to DVD-R and BD-R, and I
already have a second copy on another hard drive); it wouldn't be a bad idea
for Apple II dox either.
