Try a lot lower. I recently picked up a 386/40, 4MB Ram, 120MB HD,
VGA board (no monitor) for $100. A fair part of that went towards a
brand new case (which I could move to another computer if I get an old
case + ps for real cheap). Dropped an ethernet card in, installed
Linux on it; it makes a great telnet terminal box for my desk at work.
As to prices for used stuff like this, I take a very free-market
approach to it-- let sellers and buyers agree on a price that's
acceptible to both. If you can find a buyer at $300, fine. If you
have to drop to $50, it's your choice whether to sell or not.
