Yep, Apple bought NeXT! Instead of buying Be Inc. they went for NeXT and
their more advanced OS code. Steve Jobs will be a "consultant to the 
Chairman of the board" (or something like that). It is all detailed in the
online version of MacWEEK under the late breaking news section.

Apple paid $300-350 million for NeXT.
