Off the top of my head, I'd mention Spectrum 2.1 (adds Kermit, new UNIVERSAL
help system that can be used to add help to any program, Macbinary support,
replaces GSCII+...).
CoolWriter 3.0 released.
The development (not yet released) of LemminGS and a new version of Convert 3200
The release of Flamestation and Flamestation XL by Bright Software.
(Unfortunately required by the childish proliferation of flames by several
parties).
The long-running anticipation of release (any day now!) of GNO/ME 2.0.6, GS/TCP,
a GS Graphical Web Brower, and a GS off-line mail reader. (I'm not knocking any
programmers for taking their time. All praise to them for trying at all!)
The long-running anticipation of Golden Orchard II CD-ROM and the next release
of Twilight II (repeat disclaimer).
Seven Hills released GraphicWriter III, version 2.0 - the best desktop
publishing program ever written for an Apple II. EGO Systems released two
translators for it (to read and write RTF files, and to read AWGS files). There
was also the first "Extra" for the program released, "Curlyizer," which changes
straight apostrophes and quotes into printers' apostrophes and quotes. (Much
anticipation about SuperConvert 4.0, which is apparently being tested as we
speak).
Joe Kohn created a bunch of GS-specific CD-ROMs (Script Central, Studio City,
and NAUG, I believe).
I can't remember if Quick Click Morph and Animasia 3D came out this year or
last. Anyone?
I'm sure there's lots more.
