I'm quite happy with my ROM 3, there are dozens of small benefits it
offers over the ROM 01 I used for two years before it. As for Hyperstudio,
I've never experienced any compatibility problems (my younger brother did
once create several HS stacks on his ROM 01 machine, and I was then able
to view them fine on my ROM 3). There were a handful of older games and
demos that had compatibility problems, but the majority of them have been
patched. I still keep a ROM 01 handy, for those odd games or demos (very
few however) that I may want to see again. :)

The only major complaint I have with the ROM 3 (other than what it
_could_ and _should_ have been) is that the VGC and Ensoniq are soldered
to the main board. If those chips were ever zapped, I'd most likely have
to replace the entire motherboard. I also dislike how the slots aren't
labeled as clearly (cosmetic thing) and in my particular ROM 3, a bug
that keeps the programmer CDA's active all the time.
