If you format a Zip disk as a single, non-partitioned, HFS volume, it
should be readable on a GS or Mac. (By the way, HFS formatted Zip disks
are handy for storing piles of DOS 3.3 files.)

Downloading .shk, etc. Apple II files on a PC and moving them to your
GS works fine. The only hardware you need is modem cables and a NULL modem
connector.
