You can't decode them on an AppleII. 'gz' means gzip which is a popular
unix compression scheme. If you have access to an unix host, you may
'gunzip' them there. Ways to decode them on Macs or PC do also exist.
Then you can use DSK2FILE or the Asimov program to move the images back
to 5.25"

BTW, most of the files on Asimov are cracked copies of copyrighted
software, some are even damaged. You may obtain much of that stuff from
comp.sys.apple2.marketplace for ridiculously low prices.You may also want
