Not at all. We can 'bank-switch' 16MB blocks.
16MB chunks of for-PC memory are very inexpensive. 32MB gives us
plenty of space for large-format pics, animations, sound sequences, etc..

The idea behind the New GS board is that it is a relatively easy
extension of current accelerator board designs. New GS is a doable project
for makers of GS boards which could be a genuine money-maker.
It has already been observed that, as a 20MHz accelerator running
current GS wares, New GS would not greatly improve speed over accelerators
now available. Still, there will be some improvement. Getting to run
current wares on a 20MHz accelerator is a decent up-front benefit.
The big gain would be for the next generation of GS wares written to
take advantage of a 20MHz 65C816 accessing 16MB blocks of RAM at high
speed. If we make the top-of-card bus PC-compatible, new wares could take
advantage of SVGA and 32-bit sound cards, too!
