: Ten ways to tell if a II user has turned PC :)

: 1) Refers to BRAM as CMOS RAM
: 2) Says BIOS instead of ROM

What the @#$@!# IS BIOS, anyway? Do the Monitor and Applesoft ][ count?

: 4) Rattles on about COM ports when meaning printer and modem ports

And tells you you can't have more than two at a time without going through
IRQ gymnastics. Ummm...if I want, I can have up to seven serial ports if
I don't mind giving up the disk drives...

: 5) Talks about DMA like its something you need to set
Well, you do need to set it: "Enabled" or "Disabled". It's that jumper
on my HS-SCSI card...

: 6) Tries to get you to believe that there are 3 kinds of RAM in a
: computer.

Well, /RAVEN has "main," "auxiliary," and if you want to get pedantic
about it from a BASIC programmer's point of view, then there is "language
card."

: 7) Suddenly can't get rid of all the files of a program after it
: is installed.

Well, I sometimes forget about the icon files...

: 8) Memory use has suddenly tripled when productivity has gone down
: 9) Thinks the file delimiter is "\" rather than "/"
: 10) Changes all filenames to acronyms

Hey, sometimes I have to do that under ProDOS, even though my version is
patched. I miss those 30-character filenames under DOS 3.3...

Can you tell I haven't gone PC yet? 8-)
