Today, someone approached me with a fistful of Apple 5.25" floppys
that he hadn't touched in over 20 years. He wanted to know if I could
get the Appleworks files off of them and into MS Word on his PC. I
figured that I could at least get the text, without any formatting.
After copying all the Appleworks files to a CF card, I used Ciderpress
to extract the files onto my PC. I was surprised to find that
Ciderpress converted the documents to RTF and that some of the
formatting was intact. Even two Appleworks spreadsheet files converted
to CSV and opened in Excel just fine.
