It doesn't make any difference what notches they have.
You cannot format, read or write a high density 5.25" disk in a standard
Apple II disk drive.
High density 5.25" disks use a different magnetic coating from
single/double density disks, and you need a special disk drive which is
able to handle this. Any such drive would also need a special
controller, and is not likely to support standard Apple II disks.
