Okay, where'd my NDAs go?

ObFlameProtect: I can't get comp.sys.apple2.programmer.

I'm in the process of learning to program in 65816/Toolbox. And I am not
doing a very good job of it...I'm using "Apple IIgs Machine Language for
Beginners" as a reference, but because so much of it is a re-hash of
Assembly Lines (the book that taught me 6502 programming) I started with
the Toolbox.

Anyway, I've got this bare-bones program. All it does is put an empty
window on the screen and let the TaskMaster and MenuManager do their
thing. It doesn't even have a proper menu bar yet, but it does have an
Apple menu. Here's what I have, listing only the tool calls until I start
fiddling with the menus:

Start Tool Locator
Start Memory Manager
Reserve some memory
Start Event Manager
Start QuickDraw
Load Tools
Start Window Manager
CTLStartUp
MenuStartUp
DeskStartUp

Once I've done all that, I build the Apple menu by getting a handle to my
menu item ("About...") using NewMenu, then calling InsertMenu to put my
menu entry into the Apple menu. Then I do...

PushWord #$0001 ;ID for Apple menu
_FixAppleMenu ;Tell TaskMaster to put the DAs back

The program is right out of the book (p. 430) , except that I use
"_FixAppleMenu" instead of "Tool $1E05". Yes, I have the macro set loaded.

For what little bit this program does, it works just fine, except that the
NDA list doesn't get rebuilt. Any ideas? Note that I hit the panic
button pretty quickly here; I'm on my way to look at the code and play
with it right now... 8-)
