Once upon a time (1988)  Apple Computer Germany distributed a small
utility NDA called 'Tastaturdienste' which allowed users to type their
'foreign' characters directly from their national keyboards. As a
thrown-in goodie there were the command-shift-3 and -4 as well. Dunno
where you can get it today. Any advice from our German friends?
