The "Super II" was the first 'test-production' run of the, to become the //e
assembly 'line' (motherboard population). 100 boards were run,
populated, wave soldered and sockets stuffed with IC's. The Super II is
functionaly equivilent to a Rev. A //e. The reason you had color problmes
is if you used your "HAL" chip from your Rev. B //e board, (342-0170) as the
one on the Rev A was part # 342-0167. This 16R8 PAL and some other routing
changes were made for the Rev. B //e. When the boards were produced they
were stuffed with very much finished ROMs as all the real work had allready
occured.
Also known as 'IIx' to some degree, as 'IIx' was refered to in many new
Apple II projects, although mostly the precursor to the IIgs, also known
as Golden Gate or Brooklyn.

I have a pre-production but completed //e board (Solder Masked and Silk
screened in yellow instead of white) different than the Super II, it is
labeled Apple IIe 1982. IT more resembles the actual release than the
Super II.

The actual Apple Custom IC's (MMU, IOU))on the Super II were marked with
their JOB # (MMU/IOU) C10792 and C10793 respectivly and the HAL chip in
this case was a 16R8 PAL. (A HAL is a PAL manufactured allready
programmed at the time of manufacture). The keyboard encoder was an off
the shelf part, a more advanced versin of what was in the ][+.
