Of course this would require the design of a new expensive customized CPU
to speed the 'PowerGS' up. Since this is expensive, that's exactly what
Apple Inc. won't do. The 8-bit emulation might be done by software to
simplify the hardware design. If you want to make the system more
attractive, you may add a PC or another computer on a chip. The PC
transporter or the Duet card (which was immediately destroyed by Apple's
legal eagles) have shown that it's possible.

But nothing of this will happen, at least not from Apple Inc. because:
1) They don't want to bother with a second product line.
2) They want to make maximum profits with minimum efforts
