Here's an amazing time saver for formatting zip disks:

Before booting, insert the zip disk into the drive;  boot into RamFAST [by
holding down the zero key while booting].

Using the RamFAST menu, delete all the partitions of the zip disk, then
add 3 partitions, sizing them to the 32768 maximum or whatever you want.

Quit.  Answer yes to the prompts.  Your disk will be formatted correctly
in less than 30 seconds.
