This comes as no surprise really, Quality Computers has shown
basically no interest in supporting the Apple IIgs for quite some
time now (or the Apple II in general). Since 1994, other than
provide updates to AppleWorks Classic, they've more or less just
feed us excuses about support (Gee, sounds like Apple Computer all
over again ;)
Here's an interesting clipping, of the editor's reply to a letter
concerning AWGS 2.0 (Fall 1994 issue of II-Alive):
"Celebrated IIgs programmer Bill Heineman also had a look at it
along with programmers from EGO Systems, publishers of GS+ Magazine.
Everyone who has seen the code agreed that it would be simpler to
rewrite AppleWorks GS from scratch than to attempt to upgrade version
1.1 into version 2.0"
Quality's story on AWGS 2.0 would seem to conflict with that Bill
has stated above. It probably would have been profitable two years ago
for an update, but they just were _not_ interested (just as they were
not interested in fixing bugs in Platinum Paint 2.01).
