Thanks to Matt, my nostalgia for SunDog has been restored. I didn't
realize what a vast improvement 2.0 was over 1.1--in performance, in
responsiveness, in UI flow, in gameplay, in utility, and so on. Playing
1.1 the other night was painful; by contrast, I completed Phase 1 of
SunDog 2.0 in a single sitting last night and enjoyed doing so (while
making lots of mental notes of what I'd do differently).

It also answered a question I had when I booted up 1.1, which was: just
what did I spend the seven months from 1.1 to 2.0 working on? I know I
worked some massively long hours, and even at that, there were three
other developers contributing to some of the special effects and
utilities. But I couldn't remember all the differences. Signficant.
Definitely significant.

By the way, a search on Alta Vista confirmed my suspicion that I never
saw (i.e., my newsfeed never passed my way) a number of the postings on
SunDog. I'm trying to respond to those directly, but here's a general
"thanks for the nice things you said" to all who did so. :-) ..bruce..
