I was under the impression that most of "Microsoft's" products (I use
quotes because almost every MS product I can think of is "borrowed"
ideas) were popular BEFORE Microsoft put their sticker on 'em.
CP/M -- MS-DOS
Various GUIs -- Windows
AppleWorks, et. al. -- MS Works
WordPerfect, et. al. -- MS Word
VisiCalc, et. al. -- Excel
Various compilers -- Various MS compilers
Varoius mice -- MS's mouse (admittedly, they added that silly wheel on
newer models)
Varoius ergonomic keyboards -- MS's keyboard (Admittedly, they added
those "Windows Keys" :P)
Varoius HTML editors -- Frontpage?
Varoius CD-ROM encyclopedias -- Encarta
DBase? -- FoxPro?
Respective titles of the books spooged -- Bookshelf
Respective titles of the games spooged -- Arcade
I'm assuming you mean that *A FEW* of the ideas Microsoft "pushed"
were not already popular.
Even the more-interesting programs ("MS's" games) seem to be made BY
someone else, FOR MS. (Maybe I've got this part wrong?)
