3.5 in apple floppies

Hi,
I have a friend, who has an apple 2 with only 5.25in floppies on it.
He has written several text files using a program called piewriter.
He would like to move those files to his MAC (old, but I don't know
the model) or my PC.  He only has 3.5in drives on on his mac.  I have
both flavors of floppes available on my PCs. but, as you can tell,
I know nothing about MACs or Apple's  There are 3 floppies worth of
data.  Any ideas?  Is there a service bureau?
