   Because the two use encoding schemes that are different at the hardware
level, without (rare) addon hardware, it is _IM_possible to read disks
written by the wrong type of computer. Doesn't matter if you're trying to
copy off an old disk by file or for some emulator; it can't be done.

   The comp.sys.apple2 Frequently Asked Questions posting (archived on
the WWW at http://www.visi.com/~nathan/'a2/faq/csa2.html ) details
several methods how, with the aid of a real Apple II you can overcome
this limitation.
