Re: Looking for Videx VideoTerm ROM images

I've got a Videx VideoTerm board that I believe has corrupt ROMs. At
least, I think it's a VideoTerm, not an UltraTerm or anything else -
it just say VIDEX on the lower right, has a five pin header on the
front for video output, and connects to a toggle switch plate on the
back of the II+.

When I type PR#3, the 40 column display gets corrupted with garbage
characters, and nothing appears when I switch over to 80 column. The
labels (if any) have long since gone missing from the EPROMs. Oddly
enough, there are two ROM chips, and one empty socket for a ROM. The
top chip is a 2716, lower one is a 2708. The empty socket is the one
at the upper left. Perhaps the 2716 was used in favor of two 2708's,
hence the empty socket? I don't know. But, I'd like to try replacing
the ROMs. I've already swapped the RAM, that's not it.

I have a ROM burner, so if anyone has ROM images, I'd greatly
appreciate it.

Thanks!

If the character generator EPROM is bad, then the patterns displayed
will be completely consistent--if you repeat a character, you'll see
lots of copies of *exactly* the same bit pattern--as if you have some
"alien" font. ;-)

If this is not the case, then I doubt it's the EPROM.
