Re: The Turley A2 Chronicles - Vol. 1 (:Was Re: The Rantings of Harold Hislop

You're absolutely right Doede, on all points and issues. BTW, for the
benefit of everybody reading this thread, please be advised - I had a
long and very informative rehash of all the details on the OmniPaint
incident (from 3 years ago) - with a telephone call I made 2 days ago to
the powers-that-be today at SQC and the Editor of II Alive.

Although I had the very same discussion concerning all the REAL FACTS
behind the OmniPaint incident with the past Pres. of Quality Computers,
Joe Gleason, three years ago, I didn't know then - that Auri had stolen
the original and only copy I had in my home, when he visited me at my
home, many years ago. Now I do know and so do the power-that-be today
at SQC.

The funny thing about Joe Kohn's request for Auri to send hin the disk
'OmniPaint' is that if Auri does send it to Joe, then they are both
guilty of being pirates and using the mail to do it too! Besides, Joe
copied the entire box of my confidential disks - clearly marked 'NOT FOR
DISTRIBUTION OR COPY, PRIVATE BACK-UP DISKS FROM DR. TOM', 3 years ago,
in one of his massive copy/trade trips to our then mutual and my now old
friend Al. Yes, Joe Kohn copied them all, without Al's knowledge or
consent, then mailed the entire copied contents from that box to Quality
Computers, behind Al's back, in Al's home. Joe told me this himself,
when I asked him about it during one of our many telephone discussions
of the distant past. I even recorded the conversation from that
telephone call. Does anybody know who to make a .WAV file of that tape?

So, Quality Computers has had the disk copy of OmniPaint - that Joe
mailed to them, along with all the others from 1993. So, now you know!

As I didn't even have access to the Internet or didn't even know what
the Internet was all about, when the OmniPaint and Spectrum beta uploads
occured and didn't even have possession of the OmniPaint disk at that
time either, I think it's pretty logical now to make a fairly sane
conclusion as to just who really did upload those two archives to the
Internet, BBS' and who knows where else. Matthew Carlson or whoever he
was calling his self then - strikes again and even went so far as to use
a fake acct. and fake the name of the uploader as Ian Schmidt. (NOW
EVERYBODY READ THAT LAST LINE CLOSELY PLEASE) Ian Schmidt didn't - I
REPEAT DID NOT do it! I also had a long telephone discussion with Ian
Schmidt about all of this, back in 1993. Somebody else did it and used
a fake acct. with his name to do the upload. How do I know that - you
all ask? That's info I got directly from none other than Earl Childers,
Pres. of Seven Hills Software, in a telephone call to me at my home, the
same day it first appeared with the Spectrum beta of mine on the NET and
many BBS'. And, if you don't beleive me, then email him or give him a
call about that telephone call and the contents of our conversation.

Now can we PLEASE get on with some constructive and useful Apple II
related discussions that deal with the HERE and NOW of REALITY on this
newsgroup?

Cheers,
Tom
