That depends upon your purpose. If the main purpose is to access data
CD-ROMs, then any SCSI-1 or SCSI-2 CD-ROM ought to do. If you want to also
use the CD-ROM drive to play audio CD's, then you want to be sure to get
one that uses a mechanism that Sequential's SCSI-2 drivers support. I
believe that those are NEC and Texel, and there is also a driver that can
be used with the Apple CD300.
As for good deals, the User Group Store has Apple CD-ROMs quite cheap
(around $100.00, although I forget whether that is the CD-600 or CD-300).
Also check with Alltech & Shreve.
