Hm, I was doing CP/M programming (not on an Apple II, though) from late
1985 until some time in 1987 or 1988 (when work finally gave me a PC!)

ShrinkIt will handle any standard 16-sector Apple II 5.25" physical disk
format when creating compressed disk images.  It doesn't care what the
file system is, so you can compress ProDOS, DOS 3.3, CP/M or Pascal
disks, as well as many non-protected games that don't use a standard
operating system.  It just won't identify the disk name correctly unless
it is a ProDOS disk.

DOS 3.2 is almost certainly not supported.  :-)
