If you get a "heavy duty" replacement designed for a II+ or IIe it should
fit with minimal bother and work fine.

     If you do not mind some additional work (e.g. splicing on your Apple
IIe plug, drilling some holes, using nylon spacers, etc.)  you can get a
much better supply for a lot less by shopping around. JDR and Jameco offer
newer-design, higher rated surplus power supplies that will fit in a IIe
for, at most, half the price of a for-Apple II replacement.

     Another alternative is an external power supply from
Stephen Buggie. These deliver plenty of juice and are
available with a plug to fit the IIe for less than $30:
