: I have had GWIII for a few months. I was having trouble with letters
: missing from the ends of words. I was using a DJ500C, Harmonie Driver,
: 4 MB memory card, a ZipGS, and the standard ROM 01 with 210 MB on two
: hard drives. Come to find out (thanks to Gareth Jones in British
: Columbia) I needed to have Seven Hills Independence Printer Driver.

: Now that Independence is installed, the letters are always there.
: It is a *very* powerful Desk Top Printing Program. I find it to
: be quite flexible, although I am still learning how to use it
: to the best advantage. As of this date, I believe it to be superior
: to the other two major DTP's (PublishIt!4 and AppleWorks GS) which I
: have used in the past.

: Serving as Editor for my Masonic Lodge newsletter, I think I have
: finally found *the* DTP. I would advise one and all to install the
: Independence Printer Driver as this seems to work well in tandem with
: GWIII.

: This is strictly my own personal evaluation over a few short months.

Thanks for the plug, Perry. :-)

I think that the performance of GWIII 2.0 as a piece of software is a
separate issue from the printer driver or printer used (so I won't bother
to mention how _marvellous_ text looks when printed with a PostScript
laser printer :-)

Anyway, the short answer is that version 2.0 of GWIII is the best dtp
ever written for the GS. Yes, Publish It! 4 has a few features not in
GWIII, such as auto-hyphenation, but for every feature another program
has over GWIII, GWIII has at least one over it. I use it to publish a
monthly, 12-page, multi-column, illustrated newsletter for a Users'
Group, and it does the job reliably and well. I believe that Joe Kohn is
switching from AWGS to GWIII to publish his newsletter. Apple Blossom
magazine is done in GWIII...
