Very early indeed. My Apple ][ with a serial #11985 (it has a Rev 02
motherboard from 1978) came with the newer revision Reference Manual. At
least I believe so, unless the former owner forgot to include their copy
of the Red Book. Most likely it was only included with 1977 Apple ]['s.
