According to TV Calculator (dot) com a 25" 16:9 ratio HDTV will http://tvcalculator.com/index.html?6ca51faf663c86072879ea9763427652 be just slightly larger than my now 19" 4:3 ratio boob tube.

If you've been generally happy with the 19", then a 25" should work, but I'd seriously consider going to at least a 32" if you can.

I had a 27" 4:3 that I got from FreeCycle, but it started having display problems after a short time, maybe 2 months, which I liked for Baseball games because the little scoreboard was easier to read, but otherwise, I spend a lot of my time sitting next to it at the computer, or running around the room playing with other things. The only time it bothers me to have a smaller screen is when I'm laying in bed, and usually my eyes close shortly after I lay down, and then I don't care what size it is.
I have a 24" LCD display and I wouldn't want to watch anything on it any farther away than the chair that's sitting right at that desk.

I know what you're saying. I have a 19" LCD that I use with the Carte Blanche card, and that's fine, so far. Mostly my problem is cost. If I wait a bit longer the bigger screens might come down to what I am willing to pay. Bill
