IIgs in BYTE



BYTE subscribers might want to turn to page 48 of the October issue and
read the following in the "Blasts from the Past" column:


   10 Years ago in BYTE:

   The Apple IIgs recieved mixed reviews. 
   We liked its new 16-bit processor but       
   worried that the GS cost too much and 
   didn't offer graphics superior to the 
   Amiga and Atari. Also, we wondered why 
   Apple would invert such energy in pre-
   serving 10-year-old technology.


What I find funny is the 15 years one was about IBM and the "swell job"
they did with a Personal Computer.  One wonders why its okay to invest
such energy into a 15 year old platform.  Or even a 12 year old Macintosh
platform.

If Apple can do what its done with the Mac in only two more years, imagine
the evolution of the Apple II!
