I have a drive for my IIe. It's kinda like those 6 disk CD players, the
kind you have a magazine that holds your CDs.
This thing is about the size of a bread box. It holds 5 diskettes in
magazine's. There's an interface card for it, and an operating system
patch to use with it(I don't think it's pro-dos though).
I got this back when I was in High School from the school. They were
going to throw it out! They used to use them for this huge career
placement program or something. The information I've heard is that
Wisconsin's Education program ordered a pile of these things.
I ended up ordering some replacement disks for it. They were the last
ones in stock at this company. I still have them and they're still
shrinkwrapped!
I used this drive to hold all kinds of games on a couple of disk packs.
I seem to remember it could hold more than 5 of the standard disks.
I'm no longer using it. I seem to remember having an intermittent
problem that I blamed on the interface card.
Anyone ever seen one of these?
Do you have one running now?
