I couldn't read much about it, because the machine handling the
links of interest (inferno.lucent.com) seems to not have a DNS
entry.

It appears that the source is commercial and not publicly available.
Given that, I find it very unlikely that anyone will port it to the
IIgs.  Feel free to try to convince them, though.
