To make life easier, put the ramcard at a lower slot than the drives. On
my IIe, I have a Ramfactor in slot 5, 5-1/4 Drives in Slot 6, and 3-1/2
Drives in slot 7. The ramfactor shows up as Ram5 on the drive list when
downloading with Proterm. All you have to do is select Ram5 as the
volume to download to. You can also set it up permanently in Proterm by
setting the download option in the preferences menu to RAM5.
As far as the hard drive goes, if you have a SCSI card, you can pretty
much use any SCSI drive but remember you can only have 32meg per drive
per slot minus the amount of floppy drives you have connected. So, Apple
II's have 7 slots with a possible 2 drives per slot for a total of 14
partitions. If you have 2 5-1/4 drives and 2 3-1/2 drives that would
subtract 4 leaving a total of 10 @ 32meg for a grand total of 320meg.
So a hard drive with anything over 320 meg would be wasted, unless of
course you want to switch partitions around.
