my solution..i don't program is we started with a 386 and running mbbs
ibm bbs software on it and a product for it called dialout which allowed
you to dial out (serial or phone) to another system...i put two gs's on
to this arrangemnent running fv/metal bbs software on a gs and tpro rpg
bbs software on a gs...it worked fine...it would prob cost 200-300 bucks
for the software to do so now and whatever a 386 would cost these days
*used another 200 prob)...

that was my non programning solution.....

on a side note there is a door...i forget the name...for ibm bbs sytsems
such as wildcat, pcboard etc....that does what this dialout does for mbbs
for those systems..it (the door) is around 30 bucks i think...so..if
you got something like wildcat 2line and that with your 386 you have
lying about if you have one...it would prob cost around 150 bucks...

whatever...but i've been a bbs sysop since 1983...started on an apple //
with 300 baud modem, 4 floppy drives etc....and seen many at least a
dozen attempts to make a multinode gs....this was guick, dirty
solution...

as of right now i run a 3 line major bbs/wg with 7 cd changer (150
bucks) and tcp/ip internet line and 2 386 doors and 2 gs doors running
my old bbs software...*just to keep it along for the ride*....i just put
the apple stuff in under the multinode file area and users can telenet
in and hit on the gs's via the main menu or door games like lord, tw2002
etc....it works very well....and prob would be a lot less headache then
writing something from scratch....

just my 2 cents worth

had a guy telenet in from the netherlands into the fv/metal bbs on the
gs ...it was a hoot....
