Nathan,
I think Paul is looking for a "Hardcard" type of hard drive set-up.
------------------
Paul,
If this is the case, try Alltech Electronics and ask about the Focus
Hardcard. I don't have their phone # or URL but I'm sure it is in the
csa2 FAQ.
The Focus card is an IDE controller and hard drive on a card. If you like
SCSI controllers the RamFAST from Sequential (still being sold) or the
Apple Hi-Speed SCSI Card (find on csa2.marketplace) are your best choices.
I have and internal 2.5" SCSI hard drive on a card in my system. The drive
is mounted on a "SCSI Expander" card. This simple card holds the drive and
provides for SCSI ID and termination selection. It powers the drive off the
Apple II expansion slot. I believe that Charlies Appleseed sells these
set-ups under the "Roadrunner" label. Chuck Newby is currently closing out
his Apple II inventory and he recently posted his inventory closeout list
on csa2.marketplace. So, if interested check it out.
Finally, the SCSI Expander itself can be bought from MC Pricebreakers of
Vancouver, WA. for $39. You can look on the appropriate Mac newsgrouup
for a 2.5" SCSI drive for sale or try Computer Shopper for a Hard Drive
liquidator and attach it yourself.
Good luck,
Paul.
