Re: CD of all Files on Asimov
A few more thoughts that didn't make it into my post of a few hours
ago. For those of you on the sidelines, here's a quick way to tell
the sides apart:
Apple II Enthusiasts: Apple II Forever
Disk Image Piraters: The Apple II is dead; let's rob, loot, and
pillage what we can get before we go on to our next fad.
Yes, many on pirates have tried to claim that the Apple II is dead
so they can do what they want. Are you going to take that insult just
lying down, or will you show what you truly believe in? Well, folks,
stand up and fight them. We're very much alive and kicking; time to
shake off the jackals and hyenas who can't produce a damn bit of
software on their own, but only steal from those who do.
The Apple IIGS is 10 years old in under a week. Time to make a
stand to keep it going another 10 years. Support those who truly
support you, and push the thieves and crooks out. Software pirates
rarely admit they're stealing from the living to their face, but for
every publically admitted pirate, there area a hundred lurkers ready
to snitch anything and everything without paying.
If a GS emulator is announced on the GS's 10th birthday, as would
be a good bet, the public has a choice. Do we give implicit silent
consent to those who'd pirate and steal from us, or do we make a stand
that we do NOT tolerate such people in our midst? I'd like there to be
an 11th birthday for the GS with more companies than on the 10th; that
won't happen if pirate sites show up at all.
Take a stand today. Theirs is the side of slimy roaches lurking in
the darkness. They start scurrying away when confronted by their own
condition as parasites on the works of others. Do not tolerate their
actions as pirates, and be ready to welcome anyone who sees the truth
and turns away from pirating software for good.
