Troubles booting my new GS

I just bought a rom 01, and I can't get it to boot the operating
system.  When using the original system disk, it comes up with a screen
that says:

                APPLE II

        PRODOS 16 v1.3        29-JUN-87

               LOADER v1.3

  After 10 or 15 seconds, it beeps and puts this at the top of the
screen:

02/0020: 02 02
 A=0200 X=0000 Y=BAEA S=BAED D=00C0 P=01

*

  Does anyone know what the problem could be?  I've found several other
disks among the ones I recieved with the computer which do the same
thing.  The guided tour disk works fine, as do the multitude of IIe
games that came with the computer.

  Also, I'm confused, because the guy I bought this computer from said
it only has Prodos, but the manuals that came with it include one called
"Apple IIGS System Disk Users Guide", which is talking about GS/OS.  The
guy I bought it from, though, has only had it for six months, and isn't
even close to an expert.
