: No, I just don't like people who say Apple is evil and hate them and tell

: or Lisa owners carrying on so, and they would certainly have more grounds to

Irrelevant. Apple III and Lisa were fairly unsuccessful projects. Apple
II was _the_ de facto standard for education when Apple decided to end
support. Apple III was a failed attempt to penetrate the business market.

When Product A is outselling Product B, deciding to discontinue Product A
is about the worst thing you can do. But this is what Apple did.

And consider that other computer companies, i.e. Microsoft, are only now
discontinuing product support (after sales have long since dwindled to
$0), Apple simply isn't at the top of the heap. It's made some VERY BAD
marketing decisions which make IBM's decision to hand off the OS seem
TRIVIAL.

: do so. It's stupid and childish in my opinion. When you have people telling

She posted in the wrong newsgroup, and we were attempting to explain her
error. Please contradict my statement if you can.

: I really don't give a piss what kind of machines people own/use. Too bad other

"Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it." Five years down the
road, Apple will probably discontinue support for the 68000 processor
machines. HAL 9000 says, "Are you sure you're making the right decision?"

Point being, while we were not exactly clear in saying why her post was
off topic, the post was still off-topic. Please contradict this statement
if you can.

: All it takes is an email saying to look elsewhere, or answering the question
: if possible. Making a stink doesn't help it go away.

On the contrary, making a stink about something increases the chance that they
won't post here again. If you're nice to the stray dog, it'll come back.
Scream at it, and it'll stay away.

"Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's....." Give unto the Apple II group
that which applies to the Apple II; give unto the mac groups that which
pertains to the mac.

If you want to support/promote/talk about mac's, go to the mac newsgroups.
Go directly to the mac newsgroups. Do not stop by the Apple II newsgroups.
Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.
