I wonder if it's a bother to mention that I had about 15,000 files on 
that sucker and I also found that gs/os choked on file copies > 1000 
files at a time.  Actually, that was usually when the directory 
structures would crap out.  Could it be related to the way the RamFAST 
uses cache in it's copying scheme?

Would you please detail your system for me in terms of hardware and 
software at boot time?  Maybe I'll find something in there.

Another reason that I hate HFS... incredibly slow!

A very good idea, too.  However, one real difficulty with a 32mb limit is 
the usefulness of your desktop cluttered with multiple partitions.  A nice
pulldown list of all mounted volumes would better replace the usual 
desktop layout.  I'd prefer to have my files and working folders on the
desktop, instead of partition icons.
