Re: Where's September Genie Lamp?

In the August _GenieLamp Apple II_, editor Doug Cuff said that he would
try to get out the September issue by the middle of this month.
However, since none of the other Genie specialty on-line magazines
appeared in August, some question was raised in my mind as to whether
another issue would ever appear. We'll see.

In case anyone has not seen Doug Cuff's magazine before, I recommend
downloading some issues by ftp from ground.isca.uiowa.edu. The
directory is /apple2/gelamp. I was quite surprised to read in a recent
issue that Doug does not get paid for his editorial work--the magazine
seems way too good for that, plus is seems to me it must be a valuable
marketing tool for Genie. (And unless I've missed something, the
marketing efforts of Genie's current owners are otherwise limp.)

Lastly, it seems that July 1996 was the final issue of the
programming-oriented version of Apple II GenieLamp. However, no issues
of the programming magazine have been uploaded to ground since late last
year. It would be a real public service if some Genie subscriber could
gather the missing issues so that ground will have a complete set.
