another solution is to trim a couple of pieces of square dowel wood to fit
into the hollow underside of the c-view hinge and to friction-fit snugly,
or with rubber shims or lining, into the vertical slots recessed into the
//c for the carrying handle. i've tested this solution with balsa wood,
and it works, but you would need a harder wood for permanency. its
relatively quick, inexpensive, and easy, doesn't necessitate lengthening
the cable, and mounts the hinge where the screen can fold downward as
originally designed. i'm still thinking about ways to reinforce the
connection in those slots. any ideas? --robb
