I have no problem with announcements for publications in this group,
provided they are announcements for _new_ issues.  But a general
advertisement is just that, and someone could make a strong point that it
does not belong in the group (because it is a general advertisement).  If
I'm not mistaken, that's what was posted at the beginning of this thread.

If you begin making exceptions to a rule.... then you have no rule.

Of course.... they way around the whole matter is if you announce a new
issue, then put the ad stuff underneath it all......

Larry (who's current job with AOL is to nuke ads where they don't belong
among other things.  :)
