yes, a 3.5 drive will work just fine out of the disk drive port. i dont 
know what type 3.5 drive i have, i think the unidisk, but it worked. 
i did have to remove the access door on the bottom of the laser 
and change some jumpers/dip switches to make it boot from it 
though.
