you don't need to solder if you can find a transwarp accelerator from
applied engineering..it just takes the ocilator chip...but it needs the
32k cache upgrade to work i think...and to put that into as an upgrade
(assuming you could find such a piggy back card) you need to CUT some
traces on the back of the card....(the most terrifiying time of my life
in that i kept going over other traces...luckly..just scratched them a
little ...it took 3 attempts..damn near had a heart attack in you screw
it up the card itslelf is worthless)....found out later you HEAT the
exacto knife up before attempting such...duh...

anyway...mine has been running since around 1990 at a 13.75 setting
according to a CDA i have...this is non-stop 24hrs a day/bbs..it is now
doored off of my major/wg system (hey....i'm like the Borg..i just
assimilate packages as i go along...you can still get to the ancient
bbs software for old times sake if you choose to)

whatever my 2 cents worth..but if you can find a tw accelerator WITH the
32k cache..grab it up..in that all you'd have to do is put the improved
14mhz chip on and the proper occilator...(experiment...some systems can
only use smaller size some i've heard have hit 14.5 stable..it is a heat
thing....the occilator chips range from 35-60 if i remember correctly..

anyway that ae tw accelerator card w/32k cache on it from the factory is
the only one i know of where you don't have to 'hack' the card.
