It depends on how the block got trashed:
- if it's physically damaged ("bad block"), you might want to try a low-level
  disk copier such as Copy ][+. Maybe it can rebuild the block or portions of
it.
- if it got trashed by a software bug (or virus), you have a real problem.
  You can try finding the beginning of each file and then write your own disk
catalog from scratch. You need a thorough understanding of the layout of ProDOS
disks, though.

In either case, I'd meet Mr. Fixit and see if it can recover
some of the pointers.  It's one of the greatest programs out there. Don't leave
home without!
